A new village in not wanted in an area that already has had to accept massive developments in the near vicinity ie. Southwater and Horsham. No transport infrastructure – no rail station or main road improvements to support number of homes proposed, therefore only increasing car movements on already pressurised roads. Buck Barn and close village of Cowfold has poor air quality already. These bottlenecks of traffic and drivers finding an alternative to the busy A271 & A272 will push the poor air

Development at Buck Barn will have a devastating effect on the environment and wildlife that cannot be justified. The roads are already at breaking point, with Cowfold, a traditional rural village, suffering dangerous levels of air pollution from existing traffic. The pressure that an additional 3,500 homes, and their residents, will place on the area cannot be mitigated, and will decimate the countryside. For the health & wellbeing of current and future generations, these plans must be stopped.

I was brought up in Nuthurst and my parents still live there; I visit regularly. I strongly object on environmental grounds - destruction of ancient woodland, loss of ancient farmland negative impact on biodiversity of birds, insects and other wild animals. Increased carbon emissions and no local public transport. Proximity to nationally recognised rewilding areas and consequently potential to impact on recent benefits & in conflict with HDC environmental agreements with Sussex Wildlife Trust.
