Objection to section 5.17 in particular (with reference to Ashington Parish)

Section 5.17 Maintaining the rural economy through appropriate development will be considered positively where it can be shown to support the meeting of rural community needs, and enabling the rural towns and villages in the District to remain self-sufficient and economically vibrant.

63% increase in homes in Ashington is not an appropriate number for development purposes. Disproportionate increase (more so than any other village) with no value, no jobs or retail proposals. Existing infrastructure not geared up to cope with this amount of extra homes, plus this just serves to make Ashington an even bigger 'commuter' village. Does not support rural community needs - Neighbourhood plan has been contributed to by residents of village & views gathered, this plan undermines existing needs / views of residents. Plus district will not remain self sufficient as already rely on other neighbouring villages as a 'hub' for other services eg: Steyning / Storington for Dr's surgeries, New build houses in particular take a long time to sell in Ashington so likely that demand won't be there for this many houses in a village of this size without many existing facilities in place.
